US Sales Tax

All Amazon Web Services are sold by Amazon Web Services LLC. Amazon Web Services LLC is required to collect taxes on taxable services in the State of Washington. However, Amazon Web Services are not currently considered taxable services in the State of Washington, and are, therefore, not subject to tax.

Value Added Tax for European Union Customers

Amazon Web Services LLC is currently required to charge value added taxes (VAT) on sales of Amazon Web Services to European Union customers. All VAT collected from customers in the European Union will be paid to the tax authority of the appropriate EU member state.

This is a business purchase. How do I claim a refund of the VAT?

If your Amazon Web Service purchase is for business purposes and you have a valid VAT registration number that was issued to you by one of the EU member states, please visit our Vat registration page and provide your VAT registration number and address/details about your company. Upon verification of the VAT number, we will exempt your account from VAT on future purchases of Amazon Web Services sold by Amazon Web Services LLC.
